Schumann Kinderszenen Op 15 – Valentina Lisitsa

Wow. I never knew what this piece was called or who the composer was. Thanks to Euzicasa for posting. A wonderful and sensitive performance as well! Kinderszenen means “scenes from childhood,” and is an attempt by an adult to capture the feelings, moods and experiences of the magic of childhood. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinderszenen

  1. I really adore the Kinderszenen and have played about half the pieces in it! It’s wonderful. I believe Schumann wrote it for his wife Clara, then thought it wasn’t good enough to dedicate to her. She however pronounces that it was the most beautiful pieces she had every heard. (I hope I’m not getting it wrong with the Drei Romanzen though….)

    1. Thanks. When I listened to it yesterday, I was amazed at how many of the 11 pieces in it I recognized from listening to classical music stations over the year, but never knew where they came from.

  2. You didn’t even leave a comment! Don’t copy my posts without my permission! And you did not asked for it, nor did you get it! You do not deserve any credit for it!

    1. Dear George-b. I am sorry for my bad blog etiquette. I was very happy to lear from you what this piece was called. When I reblogged, Worpress puts your name and picture of the entry. I commented with: “Wow. I never knew what this piece was called or who the composer was. Thanks to Euzicasa for posting. A wonderful and sensitive performance as well! Please forgive me. Best
