June 23, birthday of Carl Reinecke Flute (1824-1910). Sonata Undine op.167

A prolific composer who studied under Mendelssohn and taught Edvard Gried, Max Bruch, Isaac Albéniz, and many other, and whom I’d never heard of. Here’s his most famous work “Undine” a sonata for flute, played by James Galway.
