June 18: Antoni Lliteres Carrió, Spanish composer (1673 – 1747)

Antoni Lliteres Carrió was the most famous and accomplished court composer of his day in Spain.   Acis and Galatea is a Greek myth that was also used as the theme of an oratorio by Handel in 1718.  For some reason, his work faded into obscurity and Acis and Galatea was not recorded until 2003.
